About Larnaca
Larnaca is the third largest city in Cyprus, with about 52,000 people in the municipality and 155,000 in the district in 2021. It stands on the ruins of Kition, a city-kingdom refounded by Phoenicians around the 10th century BC. Today it is best known for its palm-lined Finikoudes seafront, its Salt Lake full of flamingos in winter and the island's main airport.

Winter days average 17 to 19 °C and nights 8 to 10 °C, while August highs reach 33 °C. Pack long trousers or a skirt and covered shoulders for churches, monasteries and mosques. Sockets are type G, the British three-pin plug, at 230 V. People forget water shoes for rocky coves and a hat for unshaded sites.
